Traditional Irish folk music
Kilta (translates into "The Guild") is a recently assembled band consisting of four talented musicians. All the band members have different backgrounds in their music studies (Sibelius Academy of Music, music academies in different parts of Finland, private tutors...), but they all share the burning passion towards music from the Celtic regions. The general genre of the band's music is Irish folk music, but they have been known to throw in a tune or two from the Spanish and French Celtic regions. Many of their sets have a strong hint of Finnish folk music, and the sound of the band has been well described by someone as "a Finnish brand of Irish music".
The skill level of the players is considered to be high even amongst Irish musicians, and most of the band members have spent time over in Ireland playing gigs and attending sessions. Years and years of dedication to folk music can be heard from their playing, and despite the band's young age it has been extremely well recieved by Finnish and foreign audiences alike
